Fall is an amazing time to be in New Orleans. There’s a variety of local festivals, there’s football, and, of course, there’s finally a break from the city’s oppressive heat and humidity! With all this great weather finally upon us, fall is also a great time for running, so be sure to read on and learn more about all the upcoming races in New Orleans this fall.
When: Saturday, October 6, 2018, 11:00 A.M.
About: An NOTC Grand Prix event, Oktoberfest Run & Walk is a 2k run and walk that takes place on the weekend of Oktoberfest at Deutshaus. Open to runners and walkers alike, registration for the race is $35 the day of, and includes FREE entry to Oktoberfest after the race! This is great race training which will prepare you for all of fall’s races.
When: Saturday, November 10, 2018, 7:30 A.M.
Where: Roosevelt Mall, City Park
About: The YMCA Corporate Cup supports the YMCA Adult Literacy program and is structured to let you represent your company by joining fellow employees in teams of four members each, competing in Division I (for companies with up to 100 employees), Division II (100-500 employees, or Division III (over 500 employees). Team registration is $125 through September 26, and $140 from September 27 through the end of registration on October 24.
Individual registration continues through November 1st, and there is no due date for registration for the kid’s race.
The race is 5K and takes place almost entirely on the practice track in City Park. It also includes a Half Mile Kid’s Race and will feature local bar tabs to the teams that register the most participants! Sign up and packet pick up ends at 7:30 A.M. on the day of the race, so be sure to get over to Roosevelt Mall and claim your participation.

Where: Tad Gormley Stadium, City Park
About: Benefiting the Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans, NOAC’s 111th Annual Turkey Day Race takes place on, you guessed it, Thanksgiving! With both a 5 mile course for adults and a half mile race for kids, this event is a great way to work off all that Thanksgiving food and do good for the community, too.

Where: 2 Huey P. Long Avenue, Gretna (next to the courthouse)
About: Prize money is awarded to the first three overall and first masters male and female Half Marathon finishers. Special awards go to the first grandmaster, senior, youth, and racewalker Half Marathon finishers. Finisher medals are given to all Half Marathon finishers.
The Ole Man River race is open to all runners and walkers, NOTC members and nonmembers alike. Entry fees for the Westbank race are $55 through October 24th, and $70 up to the day of the race.
